Akshata is a Credit Risk Quantitative model developer at UBS, where she is focused on providing data-driven solutions to the Investment banking portfolios - Hedge Funds and Private Equities. She received her Master's Degree in Business Analytics & Project Management from the University of Connecticut -School of Business, and a Master's Degree in Statistics from the University of Mumbai. Before UBS, she has worked with Citibank and HDFC Bank Ltd. in the Credit Risk and Workforce Analytics space.
As a data science professional, she specializes in statistical/machine learning modeling, data-driven decision making, across various stages of customer and employee lifecycle, cross-sell initiatives (conceptualization and development), probability of default (PD) modeling, portfolio monitoring, and strategy development for risk management.
She is associated with the non-profit organization 'Girls Who Code' chapter of the University of Connecticut as alumni to discuss career paths, offer advice, and provide inspiration. Apart from being a data science expert, she is a Sahaja yoga meditation practitioner which helps her keep up with the fast-paced lifestyle. She is a voracious reader, enjoys traveling, painting, and is learning to play the keyboard.
